Who We Are
Here at MAEEVA Charity, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and develop. Our focus is on improving the education opportunities in the region of Ambovombe, Madagascar.

One Step at a Time
School developments
The region of Ambovombe has many poorly maintained wooden school buildings. They are vulnerable to damage from cyclones annually. The main livelihood of the families is subsistence farming. Parents pay for the school building and employ a teacher. MAEEVA Charity plans to help local people develop school buildings that withstand the weather, protect the children and create a better learning environment.

Helping The Community
Improving education
Many teachers in the rural parts of Ambovombe region have limited teacher training. They are responsible for teaching children of mixed ages at any one time. The teaching resources are limited to a few old text books and a blackboard. MAEEVA Charity seeks to support these teachers to develop professionally through a mentoring scheme.

Reinforcing our Commitment
Public health
The region suffers from drought and rural areas have never had piped water. The population rely on water tanks driven from Mandrare River, Ambosary. When these trucks breakdown, people are forced to find water along the coastline. Malnutrition and preventable illnesses are common. Working with public health professionals MAEEVA Charity will improve the knowledge and practice of children and their families.
